I am a Clinical Psychologist and have been working with children, adolescents, and their families since 2010. My clinical practice since 2017 includes working within specialist teams in paediatric hospital settings in the public sector, private practice and working with adults in educational settings.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Honours in Psychology, First Class) and Master of Clinical Psychology from the University of Sydney.
I am registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with endorsement in Clinical Psychology (PSY0002031040). I have full membership with the Australian Psychological Society. I engage in regular individual and peer supervision to inform my practice.
Services
I am warm and compassionate in my approach, and I seek to provide a safe, non-judgmental space in which children, adolescents, and parents can explore and process the changes and challenges they are experiencing to deepen their understanding of themselves and their experience.

Through connection, play and collaboration we work together to support you and/or your child to develop strategies, learn techniques and make adaptive changes in line with your values to help manage the challenges one is facing so that young people and their families can thrive. .
I have a particular interest in providing therapy to children under 12 years who are experiencing
-
anxiety, worries and fears (e.g. generalised anxiety, social anxiety, separation anxiety, phobias)
-
somatic symptoms
-
behavioural difficulties

and children who may need help with:
-
emotion regulation
-
building self-esteem
-
building resilience

My approach to psychological therapy is strengths-based, holistic and personalised to the individual and their family. Therapy involves a family-focused approach which means sessions may be with the young person only, the child and a parent, the parent(s) only, or a combination.

Treatment is based upon evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), attachment-informed approaches, mindfulness-based approaches and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. I work within a Circle of Security Model and have training in other parent-based interventions including Tuning into Teens and the SPACE treatment protocol (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Child Emotions). I have also been trained in Trauma-Focused CBT.

What are the fees for the sessions? Please contact me for information about session fees. With a referral for a Mental Health Treatment Plan from a GP or a referral from the paediatrician or psychiatrist you can access a rebate of $141.85 per session under Medicare for ten sessions per calendar year. Payment is processed automatically via credit card at the time of the appointment.
-
Do I need a GP referral to book an appointment? No, you don’t need a referral from your GP to book an appointment and see a psychologist. However, if you wish to access the Medicare rebate you will need to see your GP to obtain a Mental Health Treatment Plan or a referral letter from the paediatrician or psychiatrist providing support to the child/adolescent.
-
Does private health care provide a rebate? If you have private health insurance some providers offer a rebate to see a psychologist, please check with your fund to see if they offer rebates for psychological services. Note that you cannot claim from Medicare and your health fund for the same consultation.
-
How does confidentiality work? Is what I share kept confidential between us?The information you share in session remains confidential and can only be released with your written and signed informed consent. This may include, for example, in liaising with other clinicians or agencies involved in your child’s care (e.g. GPs, paediatricians, psychiatrists, school staff, etc.). Please note that in certain circumstances psychologists are required by law to share information. These circumstances include: If there is a risk to the safety or wellbeing of yourself or others If the information is subpoenaed by a court of law If the information is legally required to be reported to authorities
-
What is the cancellation policy?Appointments cancelled or rescheduled within 48 hours incur a 50% cancellation fee, and if cancelled/rescheduled within 24 hours or not attended 100% of the session fee is due. Please note that Medicare rebates cannot be accessed for these fees.
-
Do you offer face to face and telehealth?Yes, face to face appointments are from the rooms in Bondi Junction and telehealth appointments are also available.
-
What can I expect in the first session? The goal of the first therapy session is to arrive at a shared understanding of the difficulties you/your child are experiencing, what you’d like some help with and what your goals are for therapy. The age of your child and the nature of your/their concerns will indicate who is best suited to attend the first appointment. When we set up our first appointment together I'll discuss with you who I suggest attends the first appointment. During our first session(s) I will be asking questions about your child’s background, their current functioning (e.g. at school, their friendships, interests, etc.), each parent’s own and family background (as this influences our own parenting), relationships within the family, and the interests and strengths of the young person and the family. From here I will make recommendations for therapy including a treatment plan informed by evidence-based practice and tailored specifically for you. Throughout the course of our sessions we will periodically review the goals and progress to ensure the pace and focus of therapy matches what you are looking for.
